Hi, thanks for taking the time to visit my website. I’m a San Diego-based writer specializing in content development and digital marketing.
I’m a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and in my professional career, I have enjoyed contributing to many successful marketing and communications efforts at The Upper Deck Company, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, and for numerous clients such as ESPN.com, NFL Magazine, and others.
Along with following and participating in sports, one of my favorite things to do is read. I love the printed word. Thumbing through pages of thick pages of books at the library and bookstore. My home is filled with books about everything from Martin Luther King, Jr. to SO MANY sports titles. I love looking up definitions and pronunciations in the dictionary, and learning translations from foreign languages. Yep, I’m a real wordie.
In late 2017, I published my first book, The Epic in Miami, which is currently available on Amazon.com and Apple’s iBooks Store. It’s about an electrifying NFL playoff game that occurred on Jan. 2, 1982, between the San Diego Chargers and Miami Dolphins. I think the game has been unappreciated and was deserving of a book.
I interviewed a number of key people that were a part of the game, from legendary Dolphins head coach Don Shula to Chargers legends Dan Fouts, Chuck Muncie, and Wes Chandler, and combed through reams of documents and video footage. My aim was to produce a definitive account of one of the NFL’s greatest games.
Check out my blog for some of my perspectives on sports, pop culture and other topics. I’m also busy working on my next book, and I plan on sharing some updates there as well.
Finally, if you’re seeking copywriting assistance or just want to say hi, feel free to write me a note!
Best,
Joe
